BJP National Media Co-convener Sidharth Yadav also congratulated the Parishad and the students of Delhi University, and took a swipe at the Congress. He said that the students of DU “handed a big fat zero to Rahul Gandhi. “
“First of all, on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party, I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the Parishad family. At the same time, I congratulate the lakhs of students of Delhi University who have given a clear mandate in the DUSU elections.”
“A very special thing has happened in the results: the students of Delhi University have handed a big fat zero to Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party, and their student organization NSUI,” he added.
ABVP’s Yash Dabas won the President’s post, while Riya Chhawadi and Lakshyaraj Singh won the Secretary and Joint Secretary posts, respectively. The Vice-President’s post was won by independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also reacted to the result, saying the outcome showed that what Congress and opposition parties refer to as “Chhatron Ki Goonj” was actually “Jhooth Ki Goonj.”
Rijiju said, “Students from across the country study at Delhi University. The DUSU is recognised as the voice of students from across the country. The landslide victory of ABVP at Delhi University shows that what Congress and the opposition parties go around calling ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ is actually ‘Jhooth Ki Goonj’”

BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari also took a swipe at Congress, also mentioning Chhatron Ki Goonj, Congress-led student outreach campaign launched by Rahul Gandhi.
He wrote, “Delhi after Chandigarh! Jhooth Ki Goonj loses; Sach ki Hukar wins in Delhi University Student University Elections! ABVP Wins Big! Youth choose patriotism, development and Vision of PM Modi’s Viksit Bharat 2047! Rahul Gandhi’s fake PR propaganda falls flat!”
BJP president Nitin Nabin congratulated the ABVP and said the result reflected the youth’s “continued faith in positive and constructive student politics, rooted in the spirit of Nation First” and their resolve to contribute to the vision of a “Viksit Bharat.”
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh termed the ABVP victory a “symbol of the unwavering faith of the youth in the Nation First policy” and said he was confident that the organisation would continue working for student interests, national service and nation-building.
Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra described the result as “a victory of nationalistic mindset”, while BJP leader Virendra Sachdeva said the outcome showed that today’s youth “is not confused” and knows that the country’s leadership is secure in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
ABVP’s three victories left the Congress-backed NSUI without a central-panel post, while the vice-president’s position went to independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen.
