India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has turned to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami asking the government to assist him in buying land to construct his first home in his home state.

Pant, who is currently in Sri Lanka with the Indian Test squad, took to X, the social media platform, early Saturday morning to directly address the Chief Minister.

Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant asked Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami for help acquiring land in his home state to build his first residence, expressing a desire to return to his roots and willingness to purchase the land from the government.

“I have been trying to buy land to shift my base from Delhi to Uttarakhand and I couldn’t find anything facilitating and big to live here. I love my Uttarakhand,” Pant wrote.

“I request you to help me in land acquisition. My humble request to you is please help me in land acquisition. I wanna move back to my native place to help and build around Uttarakhand and I want to shift back to my Pahadi people. Please look into this matter it’s been 3 years,” he added.

“I WANT TO BUY IT FROM GOVERNMENT”

Pant clarified the government didn’t need to give him land, saying he was ready to buy the land from the government.

“A gift would be lovely for representing our state at the highest level internationally, but if you allow me, I want to buy it from the Government and on their rates. At least I can have my first house built in my own state,” he added.

Pant’s message went viral on social media as many reacted to his direct approach towards the Uttarakhand government to get him a plot of land.

India Cricketer Rishabh Pant’s Uttarakhand Connection

Pant was born in Roorkee in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand. He started his cricket career from Uttarakhand before shifting to Delhi to play club cricket.

While Pant represents Delhi in domestic cricket, the India cricket team member has often spoken about his deep connection with Uttarakhand.

Notably, Pant’s request for assistance from the Uttarakhand government came shortly after he was revealed to be the highest income tax paying individual in Uttarakhand for the financial year 2025-26.

Pant paid Rs 23.84 crore income tax for the assessment year 2025-26, as per the latest wealth tax returns. The amount tops the list of individual taxpayers for the second straight year.

Pant earns a healthy income from his BCCI salary, match fees, IPL earnings, and brand endorsements. The left-handed batter was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 27 crore and was a Grade A BCCI contracted player for the relevant period.
