Naman Dhir hit a batting masterclass in Sher-e-Punjab League 2026, launching a spectacular 173 off just 64 balls, as Amritsar Soormas posted a commanding 67-run victory over Mohali Kings.

The 18th match was all Dhir, as he walked out to open the innings and absolutely wrecked the opposition bowling with his awesome mixture of shot-making and aggression.

Naman Dhir scored a record-breaking 173 runs off 64 balls for Amritsar Soormas against Mohali Kings in the Sher-e-Punjab League 2026, leading his team to a 67-run victory and setting the highest T20 individual score by an Indian batter.

He powered 16 fours and 12 sixes in his way to a stunning 173, which was at a strike of over 270. Dhir threatened to join the likes of the T20 double-centurions, but his charge eventually fell short of the magical 200, finishing 27 shy.

Despite falling short of two centuries, Dhir’s feat found a place in the record books. He bettered KL Rahul’s previous mark of 152, which he had notched for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026, to etch his name as the highest scorer in terms of individual T20 innings on an Indian batter.

Dhir was also tantalizingly close to Chris Gayle’s all-time mark. The Jamaican legend holds Gayle’s 175 for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2016 against Pune remains Gayle’s highest, which Dhir was just three runs shy of bettering.

Amritsar pile on to 279

Dhir’s onslaught set the foundations for Amritsar’s huge innings, which was completed with a brisk 41 by Jashanpreet Singh. Amritsar Soormas eventually came together to notch up 279 runs.

Mohali Kings’ bowlers were no match for the onslaught, as Ayush Goyal stood out with four scalps. Harpreet Brar, Harshdeep Singh and Tejpreet Singh were also successful in grabbing one each.

Faced with an impossible chase, Mohali Kings could only muster a run-chase, but it wasn’t good enough for them to cross into a winning total. Jaskaranvir Paul stood tall with 76 as the opener, while Anmolpreet Singh supported with his 52.

Ramandeep Singh knocked out 19 and Harshdeep Singh remained undefeated on 23, but the chase eventually petered out. They were all out/restricted to 212, 67 runs short of the target.

Shubham Rana led the Amritsar bowling attack with three wickets, while Dhir and Jaipartap Singh Johal each bagged two. Akash Pandey and Abhishek Sharma also notched up a scalp each.

The scores eventually said a convincing Amritsar victory, but for Dhir it was a night to remember. He notched up 173 off 64 as he absolutely battered the opposition bowling.
