BJP MP Ravi Kishan has drawn attention online after he mixed up the phrase “work from home” while backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to conserve fuel amid global energy concerns due to the ongoing war in the West Asia.

Speaking in an interview with PTI, the actor-turned-politician was referring to the government’s push for flexible work arrangements to reduce fuel consumption. However, he said “home from work is very important rather than work from home,” in what appeared to be a slip of the tongue.

The comment quickly circulated on social media, with the clip being widely shared by users who pointed out the phrasing error. The phrase “work from home” is commonly used in reference to remote working arrangements.

The clip quickly went viral, with users turning the slip of tongue into a wave of memes and jokes. The comments section soon turned into a comedy thread, with one user writing, “2×3=3×2, in the same way work from home = home from work according to him.”

Another joked, “Yeah, we come home from work every day… get home and eat dinner.” One viral quip read simply: “Tongue of slip.”

Others took a more satirical tone, with comments like “Media – TRP nahi aa rahi. Ravi Kishan – Me hu naa,” and “He means to shift family to workplace.”

“Those who used to demand milk and rose petals in their bathtubs are now giving this advice to the masses!” a user wrote.

PM Modi’s Appeal

The remarks were made in the context of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal urging citizens and institutions to reduce fuel usage through various measures, including increased use of public transport, carpooling, electric vehicles, and working from home where feasible.

The Prime Minister’s suggestions come amid global disruptions in energy markets linked to tensions in West Asia, which have affected fuel prices and supply chains around the world.
