A political controversy has erupted in Karnataka after CCTV footage surfaced showing Aishwarya, daughter of Tumakuru Rural BJP MLA B Suresh Gowda, in a physical altercation with woman police sub-inspector Savitha B Patil at the Aarti Ukkada temple in Srirangapatna.The incident reportedly took place on August 12 during Bhima Amavasya celebrations, amid a dispute over entry into the temple’s sanctum. The newly surfaced CCTV footage appears to show Aishwarya slapping the police officer, after which the officer also appears to strike back before people intervene.A case was registered following the police officer’s complaint, while Aishwarya has also filed a counter-complaint. Police say both sides’ allegations are being investigated.
