BJP MP Tejasvi Surya on Tuesday stated that students across the country believe that the Central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to permanently fixing the examination system. His remarks came as he participated in the Lok Sabha debate on the Anti-Paper Leak Bill.

Addressing the House, Surya said, “The student who is preparing for the next examination is more concerned about who is going to fix the system for the future, and he knows that this govt under PM Modi’s leadership is trying to fix the system once and for all, for the better, for his future.”

‘Youth Need Solutions, Not Politics’

The MP from Bangalore South seat in Karnataka added that the country’s youth were looking towards Parliament for solutions rather than political arguments. He stressed that students preparing for competitive examinations were concerned about reforms that would prevent future paper leaks.

Today in the Lok Sabha, I spoke on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill.Students don’t want politics over paper leaks. They want a system that protects their future.

“The youth of the entire country are looking towards this Parliament and all of us. What will emerge from this debate and discussion? The ordinary young person watching this House from home is not concerned with this back-and-forth. He is not concerned about what happened under which government, what happened in the past… What concerns the student preparing for the next examination is who is going to fix the system for the future,” the BJP leader remarked.

Highlighting the government’s response to the paper leak controversy, Surya said the Centre acted swiftly by taking immediate corrective measures. He said the government conducted the RE-NEET examination and recently accepted the demands raised by students, asserting that these steps reflected its commitment to strengthening the examination system.
